My story “Paddle to Canada” was included in The O. Henry Prize Stories and read on NPR’s Selected Shorts. Another story, “Town of Birds,” won the Kenyon Review Short Fiction Contest. My work has also appeared in ZYZZYVA, Crazyhorse, Hobart, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, The Normal School, Day One and Saltgrass. I have a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.F.A. from Columbia University, where I also taught a fiction workshop. I’ve received a scholarship from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, a fellowship from The Lighthouse Works, and a residency from PLAYA.
I live in Santa Clara, California with my husband, daughter, and two small, noisy mutts.
